Of Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Charlotte County and Charlotte Harbor.

Let us start with an aerial view showing Punta Gorda Isles, a waterfront community, surrounded, in the foreground by the Peace River and in the distance the 125 square miles of Charlotte Harbor, which leads to the Intercoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico.

At the bottom of the picture, on the North side of the Peace River is Port Charlotte,  a community of homes, some of which are on the water.

Fishermen's Village & Marina offers dockage, fuel, restaurants (about 10), including fine dining at the Captain's Table,  shopping, boat tours, fishing tours and even Time Share apartments.  There is plenty of room to dock and dine.  This is one of the wonderful attractions in our area.

There are many boutiques featuring everything imaginable.  There is music for dancing some evenings.

You can go on boat rides.   Large boats will take you on day trips and sometimes just to see the sunset.  Yes, it is not unusual to see the dolphins swimming and jumping.

Fun, sun and beautiful waters become a part of your life in Charlotte County.  The Harbor is purely recreational since it is not deep enough to handle tankers and freighters. Nevertheless, you will see large sailboats plying these waters.

Punta Gorda has been named, three times, the best place to live in the South.  I wonder why?  Spend some time here and you will know.

This is just the beginning, go to the next page to see more pictures showing the life we lead in the area.
